Erling Haaland ended his goal drought by scoring for Manchester City in a crucial match against Everton, temporarily pushing City to the top of the Premier League standings.

After recovering from a foot injury that kept him out of action for most of December and January, Haaland displayed his skill by scoring a brilliant first-time finish for his first goal. He later secured the victory with another goal, calmly slotting past Jordan Pickford in the closing moments of the game.

Despite Everton’s strong defense, which prevented City from registering any shots on target until Haaland’s breakthrough, the Norwegian striker capitalized on a corner clearance, firing a powerful shot that Pickford could only touch but not save.

Haaland took advantage of defensive gaps in Everton’s pursuit of an equalizer, scoring City’s second goal with a composed finish after receiving a precise through-ball from Kevin de Bruyne.

Although City’s time at the top was short-lived, as Liverpool reclaimed the position later that day, their return to the summit after three months highlights their impressive form, characterized by a series of victories in various competitions.

City’s win marked their tenth consecutive victory across all competitions, including successes in the Fifa Club World Cup and the FA Cup. Meanwhile, Everton’s struggles persist as they remain stuck in the relegation zone with a winless streak extending to seven league games.
