The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) deputy general secretary, Haruna Mohammed, has urged ministers and deputy ministers in President Akufo-Addo’s administration to resign if they are feeling worn out and incompetent.
According to Mr. Mohammed, this action would create chances for people with new ideas and enthusiasm to enter the administration, which would ultimately enhance the performance of the government and the party’s prospects in the December elections.
Mohammed stressed the importance of putting the party’s and the government’s interests ahead of personal ones when speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile.
He emphasized that there is still enough time for the party and the administration to successfully carry out their duties on behalf of the Ghanaian people.
“We are pleased that the President has responded to the calls to reorganize his government made by the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party at this point in time. He continued, “But we are still calling on individuals who believe they are too fatigued to contribute to the success of the government and the party to voluntarily quit so that others who can help may be appointed.
Mohammed continues to call on individuals who feel worn out and ineffective to step down voluntarily, even as he expresses satisfaction that the President has heeded calls for a reorganization of the government.

He thinks this would enable the nomination of those who can contribute significantly.
President Akufo-Addo has finally made changes to his administration following months of popular criticism. These adjustments come after former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen and Agriculture Minister Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto resigned to concentrate on their respective electoral campaigns.
On Tuesday, February 13, the President formally notified the Speaker of Parliament about the new makeup of the administration in accordance with the 1992 Constitution. Twelve or so people have been assigned to ministerial roles, and other people have been transferred to other ministries.
