Hafiz Bin Salih, the Upper West Regional Minister, expressed deep concern over the significant loss the region has suffered due to the tragic death of Eric Johnson, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cossy Hill Hotel, also known as Jirapa Dubai.
The shocking revelation of Johnson’s violent death in his room on Sunday, February 11, has sent shockwaves through the community.
In an interview with Eyewitness News on Citi FM conducted by Umaru Sanda Amadu on Monday, Mr. Salih emphasized the substantial contributions made by Mr. Johnson across various sectors within the region. He highlighted Johnson’s philanthropic activities and his enthusiasm for sports, among other admirable qualities.
Furthermore, the Upper West Minister noted that Jirapa Dubai had significantly raised the region’s profile and played a crucial role in advancing the prosperity of the Upper West Region.
“We are all deeply saddened… Eric Johnson was a prominent figure in the Upper West… He was renowned for his philanthropy. His influence touched every sector,” he stated.
Regarding the future of Jirapa Dubai, the Upper West Regional Minister assured that every possible effort would be made to ensure its continued success.
In related developments, the Ghana Police Service has apprehended two additional suspects connected to the murder of the Jirapa Dubai CEO.
With these arrests, the total number of suspects detained in connection with the murder now stands at seven.
Initially, Dookuuri Fausta, Braimah Kasim, Beyuo Felix, Michael Klugey, and Kumbata Kwaku were taken into custody on Sunday, February 11.
Following the homicide, Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare, deployed a team of investigators to collaborate with the Upper West Regional Crime Scene Management Team. Their joint efforts aim to ensure the apprehension and prosecution of the perpetrators.
A recent update from the Police Service indicates the arrest of two additional suspects, Charles Tuoze and Favour Nuobe, both employees at the Cossy Hill Hotel. They are helping with the continuing investigations while being held by the police.
