In recent updates, reports indicate the tragic demise of Mr. Eric Johnson, proprietor of Jirapa Dubai, also recognized as the Royal Cosy Hills Hotel, situated in the Jirapa District of the Upper West Region.

Sources reveal that Mr. Johnson was found lifeless earlier today, allegedly a victim of fatal shooting by unidentified perpetrators.

Journalist Kennedy Mornah, with ties to the business world and hailing from the Upper West Region, initially broke the news on Facebook, questioning, “Owner of Jirapa Dubai allegedly murdered? How did we arrive at this location? A rather depressing way to start the year.”

Speculations from our informant suggest a possible link between his demise and underlying chieftaincy disputes. Allegations have surfaced claiming Mr. Eric Johnson’s involvement in a contentious plan to install a chief within the Jirapa traditional domain. This initiative sparked dissent among certain factions of the royal lineage, leading to petitions directed at him, as well as other family members and the Tendaaba, who were allegedly orchestrating the chief appointment process.

Excerpts from the petition stated: “Mr. Eric Johnson should be advised not to gamble with the peace of the Naa Angsoleh Aanaa/Naa Yelpoe Royal families.”

Adding that “They, therefore, call on all families to rise against the naked conduct by Eric Johnson, which is likely to breach the stool and, by extension, the PARAMOUNTCY the peace that it is currently enjoying. We also wish to state that the Jirapa Chieftaincy stool is not for sale and to be offered to the highest bidder.”

  • In October 2023, Mr. Eric Johnson took legal action against the petitioners at the Wa High Court with the aim of vindicating his reputation. This ongoing legal battle remains unresolved.
